Bags, Purses and Totes- Oh My!

If you are anything like me, you have a closet full of bags!  Shopping bags, purses, totes, diaper bags, etc.  And yet I want MORE.  I cant get enough, they are just so pretty and I love having different kinds and styles for every occasion.

So today I decided to take my love of bags and make a few!  I have a feeling this is going to be a new addiction for me and I am definitely going to have to add them to my Etsy Shop!

This weekend I have a formal Anniversary party to go to so I decided to make myself an evening bag.  I have 2 little kids so my normal purse is BIG.  I needed something smaller to just fit a few necessities and I am very happy with it!  I love the gathered look it has and the magnetic closure.  I made it with Home Decor fabric so it is nice and sturdy too!

Next I was getting ready to wrap a gift for someone and then I instead decided to make a drawstring bag to put it in!  This way the bag is also part of the gift and they can reuse it!  This could also easily be made into a wine bottle bag! Its lined with a contrasting fabric so it could also be reversible!

And last but DEFINITELY not least is a beach bag!  It is nice and big (I put 4 towels in it for the picture but could fit more) and has 3 outside pockets as well.  I added an adorable ruffle to the other side but you could easily put more pockets on that side too!.

When you are done with the bag, it folds up small and can just be tossed in the wash.  It would be so nice to also store things in your trunk of your car for the summer!  Like the design but want a smaller size?  No problem!  And the fabric options are endless!!!

It was so much fun making these bags and look forward to trying out some more styles and types.  Contact me at cottonkandyshop@yahoo.com or on my Facebook page and let me know what you would like me to create for you!  I love doing custom orders and look forward to working with you!

A Ruffled Sundress and a Pillowcase Dress with a Twist!

Well I am posting way earlier than planned but I have 2 sick little girls that have not been sleeping well and have been getting up bright and early.  So I figured I would go ahead and share the photos of the new dress with you- the "Claire" dress! (Inspired by a pattern from Tikatuly

This is such a fun sundress and it has so many ways to be customized! The fabric options are endless!  You also can make it shorter by not adding the last ruffle, or you can make each ruffle a different fabric, and you could even add decorative ruffles!

My favorite part of the dress is the back!  I love how it ties into the dress and the Shirred back for a comfortable fit- no buttons or zippers!  The bodice is also fully lined.

I love it when my daughters match so I made my youngest daughter a pillowcase dress.  But I didnt want it to just be a regular pillowcase dress, so I gave it a "panel look" and I love it!!

And then I modified it so that it doesn't tie on the shoulder, instead it ties on the back (or you could wear it in the front)  and I think that gives it a little something "special"!

And of course whats better than coordinating hair clips??

Contact me on my Facebook page or my Etsy shop or at cottonkandy@yahoo.com to order your dresses, I love doing custom orders and will take the time to help you find the colors and prints you love!  I also make boys Bow Ties and Suspenders and Vests!  Looking forward to working with you!
